Technical Director
Ministry/Job Description
Reports to: Programming Pastor
Position description:
The Technical Director exists to help communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ by overseeing the use of IMAG (directing/producing), videos, and lighting during the worship services or other ministries that relate to Southeast Christian Church.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Oversee the shooting and editing process of the video announcements and regular videos for the weekend services, along with the
ability to shoot and edit videos.
2. Oversee the shooting and editing process of the videos for all other ministries of Southeast Christian Church.
3. Supervise the video department staff.
4. Write and edit scripts for videos that will be produced for Southeast Christian Church.
5. Communicate the worship ministry’s vision as well as Southeast’s mission statement.
6. Must be proficient in programming and operating the lighting board and video equipment, along with the ability to train ministry
partners (volunteers) for these areas.
7. Recruit and develop ministry partners (volunteers) for technical operations (video, lighting) for all weekend services and for other
video productions that take place throughout the week as needed.
8. Recruit and develop ministry partners (volunteers) for video shoots.
9. Oversee technical operations for all weekend services (excluding audio).
Essential skills/abilities:
• Must have completed 2 years of related college coursework or a minimum of 4 years combined experience with the above listed
duties and responsibilities (i.e. video, and script writing knowledge).
• Must have 2 years of video editing experience.
• Must have 2 years of shooting content for videos.
• Must be proactive and have the ability to be a self-starter.
• Strong ability to multi-task.
• Ability to understand and work with different personalities and temperaments.
• Well-developed organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Must have an eye for creative excellence.
• Must be able to work as a team member.
• Must be positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and courteous, along with maintaining a professional attitude.
• Ability to recruit and develop ministry partners (volunteers).
Time requirements:
40-50 hours/week
