SMALL GROUPS - GETTING CONNECTED AT SOUTHEAST.
A word that you will often hear around Southeast is the word, "community." Community is intentionally doing life with others in a meaningful and fulfilling way. We place a high value on community here at Southeast. It is our heart and vision that no one stands alone in his or her spiritual journey.
WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED IN A SMALL GROUP?
A church can be a lonely place unless relationships are made with others. Small groups within the church provide an environment where people can connect with others while pursuing spiritual transformation in their lives. Small Groups are a way of "doing life together," sharing the joy and trials of life with others. God’s desire for us is to experience community with Him and with others. God is love and He wants us to experience His love and share it in all of our relationships. He has created, in each one of us, a longing to know others and be known by them. As we join in community with others, we take part in God’s design and plan for our lives.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT A SMALL GROUP MEETING?
Small Groups exist primarily to develop relationships among group members as they grow in their relationship with Christ. The Small Group meeting schedule is flexible and is up to each individual group. Most groups meet weekly for an hour and a half or two hours. Each meeting will typically consist of time spent sharing prayer requests, time spent discussing a Bible passage or lesson, and social time for getting to know others in the group. Each Small Group is encouraged to schedule times for social gatherings and relationship building, such as sharing a dinner, game night or serving as a team.
